Fröreda storegård (eng)
Welcome to Fröreda storegård, one of Kalmar County’s architectural monuments! Fröreda village burned down to the ground in 1683. A dendrochronological survey shows that the buildings we see here today were built during the second half of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, the farms environment consisted of around 40 houses, but today there are only two twin cottages and four loft sheds left here. In one of the twin cottages, old wallpaper, high quality woodwork and forged metal details have been preserved. The farm is owned by the Järeda local history association. Via the QR codes you can experience some of the farm’s rooms, watch a film about dendrochronological sampling or read the latest survey about the farm.
