The windmill in Dalsebo

Dalsebo windmill is situated high on a rock so that the wind can spin its wings, moving the straps that allowed the millstones to spin – and grind flour. From the flour, peasant wives and maids baked bread, which was an important part of the diet of the people in the peasant society. Flour could also become food for the farm’s animals. The mill is said to have been built in 1845 by Bengt Olovsson, one of the village’s farmers. In addition to that there were also several small mills in streams on the outskirts of the village.
